PART 2: WHY REXTRANSFERT NEEDS CAMERA PERMISSION
Why Does a Money Transfer App Need Camera Access?
Camera permission is essential for a secure, compliant, and user-friendly money transfer and investment platform. Below are the specific reasons Rextransfert requires camera access:
KYC (Know Your Customer) Identity Verification
Regulatory compliance requires verifying the identity of all users. The camera is used to capture a live selfie or photo of the user's face, which is matched against their government-issued ID document using biometric/facial recognition technology. This prevents fraudulent accounts and money laundering.
Document Scanning – ID Upload
Users must upload a valid government-issued ID (passport, national ID, or driver's license). The camera allows users to scan and capture their documents directly within the app, avoiding the need to upload images from a gallery (which may be tampered with or outdated).
QR Code Scanning for Payments
The camera is used to scan QR codes generated by payment gateways, merchants, or recipient accounts. This enables fast, accurate, and touchless transactions, reducing manual entry errors in account numbers or payment references.
Receipt & Document Capture
Users may need to photograph physical receipts, bank statements, or transaction confirmations to upload as proof of funds or to dispute a transaction.
Liveness Detection (Anti-Spoofing)
During KYC verification, camera access is needed for liveness checks — confirming the user is physically present and not using a photograph or video to impersonate someone. This is a fraud-prevention requirement by many financial regulators.
